we won't have the trademark Rhox tournament organizing style (see http://quadradius.com/quadboard/viewtopic.php?t=2065)
but that's okay. at least it will be run smoothly with no cheating

Ok. Saturday I will set this up, unless Rhox wants to do it first.
Post if you still want in, I am sure someone will drop out.
Post if you are now too busy but said you were in.
This will be 2 out of 3, each round will last 10 days (to play the 3 games).
Basic ladder elimination. One Qing to rule them all.

oh... btw trying to limit a tournament to 30 seconds a move shows a limited perspective of the game.. and of the community |

Not exactly sure what you mean, but yes each match is 2 out of 3 games. That player moves up ladder.
I will make ladder tomorrow. And of course some players will want more than 30 secs, although I see point in limiting it also so games go faster, and more matches are completed. |

Sorry guys, had a busy week of finals for my summer classes. But I'm finally done with class until August 16th, so I will have some free time.
The roster is set, and I will organize the bracket tonight after I get off work. Hopefully you all are still here and willing to play.

Ok Rhox you can do it.
I was going to make it today.
We have 17 players - #17 was the thrill, so my plan was to leave me out, and then I can step in to replace one of the 16 who drops out - meaning never shows up. I think that someone who said they are in will be absent now - so feel free to do this - leave me as a sub: when one player says "hey I can't get in touch with mr. x, never message me, etc. then I can substitute for the person who is missing. If I don't end up playing that is fine, but I guess someone will be missing in action. |

twas a joke.. that the tournament was just about signing up but 2 out of 3....
anyway, just because the timer is at 2 or 4 min for a tournament does not mean players are using that per turn.. it is for the times when major decisions and 5-10 moves ahead need to be thought and weighed.. i know MANY players have a strict playbook of playing totally safe unless immediately threatened and only think less than 2 moves ahead so i am speaking colors to the blind but rest assure that if a player took all 30 seconds each turn that would be bad practice as well.. so ditch the idea that 30 second moves is good for a tournament.. all that means is the person asking for that limit knows they have a blank mind and barely sees past their nose so they rather everyone else do the same... |
